Psalm 1, 19
H - "...By [your rules] is your servant warned. In keeping them there is great reward." - Psalm 19:11
E - David wrote Psalm 19. He understood the importance of God's word, which warns the believer and offers the believer great reward if kept.
A - Father, am I listening to the warning of your Torah? Am I keeping your rules?
R - "Jeff, remember that only in Christ, and Christ in you, can you keep my rules. Spend as much time with me as you can. Don't continually pour yourself out in ministry without getting refreshed spiritually. Go on a prayer retreat, like you used to. Give your beautiful wife time for her own prayer retreat as well. And focus in on my word. Don't get bogged down in details. Skim along the surface remaining in close contact with me. Have a good and faithful heart of innocence. Treat everyone like kings and queens. Pray for wisdom. Be filled with the Spirit and sing, be thankful, and submit. Teach youth to love me with a devoted, committed love. In sum, go out there and make disciples. That is the path of great reward."
P - Father, not I, but Christ in me. May the Christ-life flow through me. Help me as an believer to keep your words. Help us as a family and as a local church to be what you want us to be.
