2 Corinthians 2
"But thanks be to God, who in Messiah always leads us in triumphal procession and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Messiah to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of pure motivation, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Messiah" (2 Cor 2:14-17).
Father, thank you for always leading us in triumphal procession in your Son, our Lord Jesus Messiah. Through us please spread the fragrance of the knowledge of you everywhere. May we be perfume among believers and those who might be, and a stench among those who will not believe. Only in Messiah are we sufficient to be this smell. It is not in ourselves. May we not use our knowledge of biblical truth to gain money, sex, power, or fame. May our motivations be pure. You have commissioned us to spread knowledge of you far and wide. Every believer is a commissioned officer. May we in your sight speak in Messiah. Give us courage, opportunities, and wisdom.
I pray for the Charvats in Germany, the Gunnels in Thailand, the Smiths in Nepal, the Perkins in Tahiti, the Colemans in Texas, and the churches in Otago. I also pray for Wasilla Bible Church and Christ Fellowship in Tennessee.
