Matthew 4
"And [Jesus] went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them." - Matthew 4:23-24
Matthew is summing up Jesus' early ministry. Based in Galilee, Jesus is teaching, proclaiming the gospel, and healing lots of people.
My wife is in need of healing from cancer. Based on these verses, I believe Jesus can heal my wife if it is his Father's desire. I pray Jesus will do so so that Averil and I can live into our 90s together.
Father, I bring my wife to you this morning and asking that you would allow your Son to heal her from cancer, so that we can live together to an old age. I know you do not choose to allow healing in every case. But in the case of my wife, please give your Son the go ahead. Please glorify him through her healing. In Jesus' name, amen.
